COVID-19 Daily Email Update 5/5/2020

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Thank you, Nurses!

Another well-wishing could not be more timely, National Nurses Week 2020. The World Health Organization declared 2020 as the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife to mark the 200-year anniversary Florence Nightingale’s birth. Their service is more critical than ever within MORA and around the world. We honor our own nursing staff: Jennifer Hall, Donna Kuller, Amy Anderson, Connor Larsen, Brogan Martin, Megan Ruschmeier, Andrea Taber, Kris Waters and Joanne Weiland. Be sure to thank a Nurse!

#GiveAtHomeMN is an online fundraiser from May 1- 8 on GiveMN.org that will support nonprofits and schools all across Minnesota including Mount Olivet Rolling Acres. It’s a celebration of Minnesota’s generosity during tough times to help the organizations that make our state a great place to live, work, and play. The GiveMN site is easy to navigate and will ask donors to put in the name(s) of the organization(s) they want to support. Please share this information with anyone in your circle who may be able to help in this time of great need. Gifts of any size are appreciated. They can also always donate directly: mtolivetrollingacres.org.  Thank you!

Let’s break 100.

During this COVID-19 crisis, our Monday-Wednesday-Friday 10am Zoom Check-ins have evolved from scrappy updates to super-efficient information sessions about new Human Resources support; changing nursing and health procedures; how to get supplies & groceries; Training, Recreation, even comic relief. And always time to ask YOUR questions and make YOUR suggestions. In a busy time where we know many staff are too busy to sit still and read email – these are 15-20 important minutes. Let’s see if we can get 100 staff joining in. Reach out to Jessica Gallo with any questions about how to connect.

Positive COVID-19 case

Yesterday we let all staff and Board members know that a Mount Olivet Rolling Acres staff has tested positive for COVID-19. Those directly impacted were contacted first, by phone.

Two important reminders:

  1. Continue using entrance and exit logs at each MORA office or Home. In addition to our work scheduling systems, these logs help us contact directly exposed staff and guardians.

2.    We fully expect all employees to follow privacy laws (HIPAA). We are not allowed to disclose the name of any staff member who tests positive for COVID-19, or any other medical conditions.

Please direct any questions to your Supervisor or Program Director and …..please call Stacy Richards if you are experiencing symptoms, 952 767 4831 srichards@mtolivet-mora.org.

I hope you take full advantage of Cinco De Mayo falling on Taco Tuesday and have a nice quiet evening at home celebrating,

T.
