MORA Update 8/21/2020

Hi all,

Happy Friday!

My apologies for the delay in sending this out. My goal is to get this out each Thursday, however, I’ve been working from home this week and our neighborhood lost power yesterday afternoon so…I wasn’t able to finalize until this morning. As many of you know, working from home has its own set of challenges.?

Looking ahead: It’s time to regroup and recharge…

Some weeks bring more questions than answers. That is normal. It’s OK. And certainly to be expected during the times we’re in. Asking questions and finding answers together requires some patience, grace and courage. Especially when many of us would just like to turn off the news, cover our eyes and ask someone to tell us when it’s all over. But we don’t really want that… Our hearts are big. We are hard workers. We are caregivers.

So what do we do?

Finding balance between safety from this virus and well-being for our spirits is a topic of many conversations these days. We are making tricky decisions every day in our personal lives and throughout every service of Mount Olivet Rolling Acres with how we care for our clients.

The past 5 months have brought tumultuous change after change and now, at the time of year where summer turns into autumn, we are asking: will anything change?

The outside world is not always helpful, so it is up to us. As individuals and teams, we get to decide what needs to change right now. Just within what we can affect.

Which might feel small in a moment. But it is significant all together.

Good News for our ICF Homes

There are protocol changes coming for our ICF homes (Cottage 1, Cottage 2, JanView and Mackenthun).  These will include updates to visitor guidelines and the addition of an Essential Caregiver role for our guardians.  The ICF Leadership team along with Nursing and HR are finalizing these changes and will be communicating directly with staff, guardians and case managers impacted. Please be on the lookout for this information in the next week.
