#FacesOfAbilityFriday – Bucky J.
This week on #FacesOfAbilityFriday we’re showcasing Bucky J. Bucky lives in one of our residential homes. He works at Opportunity Partners in Hopkins, where he
puts together pieces. He was very excited to tell us that he put together 10 pieces when we sat down to talk with him! Bucky reports that he likes his job at Opportunity Partners.
Bucky grew up in Minnesota, where he lived with his parents, brother, and sister. He loves all things superhero related and has a new Batman rug and set of Spiderman sheets in his room, both of which he proudly picked out. Bucky’s favorite movies are Batman, Superman, and any
superhero movies in general. He likes to sing and participates in MORA’s Glee Club. Last month, in honor of Minnesota hosting the Super Bowl, Bucky had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at Super Fest, hosted by the Matthew Foundation. In addition to singing with Glee Club and getting to watch some awesome football scrimmages at the event, Bucky also got to meet and greet the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, which he tells us he liked.
Bucky’s staff, Elizabeth, had some cool things to tell us about him. According to Elizabeth, Bucky is an “awesome” guy who is great at “basketball, track, crafts, and Connect Four.” Elizabeth said that Bucky brings many great things to the community, but his “awesome attitude” stands out above all else. She said that Bucky “loves to help and do things, and hang out with people.” This shines through in all the activities that Bucky is a part of, and in the relationships he’s formed.
Bucky loves playing basketball and is on MORA’s Special Olympics basketball team. When we asked Elizabeth what the thing Bucky does best is, she was quick to say, “helping cook and with meals.”
Quick facts about Bucky:
His favorite part of the day is going to classes at work.
His favorite thing to eat is Applebee’s.
When Bucky wants to relax, he likes to watch TV or play a game with staff.

If he could travel anywhere, Bucky would like to go on a campout, as he loves camping.
