National Volunteer Week 2019

Laurie Mahoney – Volunteer Coordinator

It is  National Volunteer Week, I thought this would be a perfect time to share with you, a little bit about me.

I grew up in Bloomington and continue to call Bloomington home . I have 3 kids and 2 very sweet grandbabies!! I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. Being called “Nana” is one of my biggest joys! I have two sisters and 6 nieces and nephews. We are a very close family, getting together as much as 2- 3 times a month!

I enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, dancing and kayaking. Walking in nature is one of my favorite ways to de-stress.  Traveling is always at the top of my bucket list! I recently traveled to the Dominican Republic and was impressed with the beauty !

Prior to my role at Mount Olivet Rolling Acres, I was the Director of the Bloomington-Eden Prairie Meals on Wheels program for 19 years. I enjoy working in the non-profit sector which makes a difference in the lives of others!

I enjoy all aspects of volunteer management. It is such a feeling of satisfaction when volunteers are matched  in roles that meet the need of the wonderful adults we service. I enjoy meeting and building relationships with so many different folks with different backgrounds! We all have a story, I enjoy hearing all of them.

I am thrilled to build a robust volunteer program with Mount Olivet Rolling Acres. For more information on our opportunities, visit the volunteer tab HERE

All week we will be sharing more information about our volunteer programs, volunteers and how much of an impact it has on those we support in their day to day lives. Be sure to check our updates on our FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM pages.
